Business FAQs
Getting started
What is Scoffers?
Scoffers is a platform for restaurant and venue owners to create and promote food & drink offers. Customers browse live offers near them, and you pay to keep your listings active.
How do I create an account?
Register with a valid email address — this becomes your login username. New accounts are reviewed before approval; you’ll receive an email once your account is approved and ready to use.
How do I list a venue and an offer?
Once approved, head to Dashboard → My venues to add a venue, then Dashboard → My offers to create an offer for it. An offer goes live once payment is complete.
Payments & pricing
How are payments handled?
All payments are processed securely by Stripe — we never see or store your full card details. Prices are shown and charged in pounds sterling (GBP).
What's the difference between a one-time and a recurring offer?
- One-time payment — for a single, fixed-date event. You pay once and the offer stays live until its event date passes, then expires automatically.
- Recurring subscription — for ongoing, repeating offers. You’re billed monthly until you cancel.
If I change my pricing, does it affect existing offers?
No. The price of an offer is fixed at the point you create it. Pricing changes only affect new offers — they never retroactively change an existing offer or an active subscription.
Where do I find my receipts and next payment date?
Your Dashboard → Billing page lists every payment with a Stripe-hosted invoice (receipt), and shows your next payment date for recurring offers.
Trials
How does a free trial work?
Where a free trial is offered, your offer goes live immediately and no charge is taken during the trial. Unless you cancel before it ends, the subscription automatically converts to a paid monthly plan and your card is charged at the start of the first paid period. Trials appear as a zero-value entry in your billing history.
Pausing, cancelling & refunds
Can I pause an offer?
Yes — active monthly subscription offers (other than those still within a free trial) can be paused from your dashboard. While paused, the offer is hidden from public listings and billing is suspended, so you’re not charged for renewals. When you resume, any unused paid days are credited back as an extension before billing restarts. Pausing is fully reversible and doesn’t delete your offer.
How do I cancel an offer?
Delete the offer from your dashboard, or cancel via the Stripe billing portal. The subscription stops, no further payments are taken, and the offer is removed from public listings. Deleting an offer is irreversible — to run it again you’ll need to create a new one.
Do you offer refunds?
Subscription payments cover the billing period in which they’re charged, and we don’t provide pro-rata refunds for the remainder of a period — the pause feature lets you preserve unused paid days instead. One-time event payments are non-refundable once published, except where required by law. If you believe you’ve been charged in error, contact us at hello@scoffers.app and we’ll investigate.
What happens if a payment fails?
If a recurring payment fails, your offer is automatically suspended and hidden, and we’ll email you. Stripe retries the payment — if a retry succeeds the offer is reactivated automatically. You can update your payment details via the Stripe billing portal.
Your account
How do I delete my account?
Go to Dashboard → Account → Delete account. Deleting your account cancels all active subscriptions and removes all of your venues and offers.
